Study Music with Me!

I enjoy seeing people engage with an instrument, and music in general, and I love to offer my skill sets to growing musicians! Looking back on 30+ years in music, I understand the art of playing music on any instrument. I offer my extensive knowledge, kindness, passion, and strategic approach to students of all ages and learning styles.

  • Cello (classical and/or non-classical)​

  • Drumset - start off with good technique, and we'll learn beats that suit your musical tastes

  • Guitar - learn your favorite songs, scale patterns to play in key, strumming patterns, and more​

  • Electric bass - learn your favorite song, and the fundamentals of good, solid bass lines ​

  • Mandolin - start off with good technique, learn tunes, and key patterns so you can play along with any song

  • Music production, recording, mixing, arranging - all of which I do here to create my unique backing tracks. If you're just getting started or struggling with these, I can help!​

  • Theory - the basics of scales, harmonies, chords, note reading, and rhythms of different styles. For more experienced musicians, I can help you pull back the curtain on whatever you're interested in

My background

  • 31 years as a musician, 10 years as a professional performer (cello and electric bass)

  • Trained in classical cello from age 12 through college

  • Bachelor of Music from UNM, trained by a Fulbright doctoral student of the great Pierre Fournier

  • I'm always ready to discover more about music and my students, and you'll feel that enthusiasm!

  • I've performed in orchestras, jazz bands, variety bands, musical theater, churches, bars, and of course as a soloist here. If you think of a musical situation, I've likely done it at least once!

  • I believe I'm a natural teacher, because I love learning, and I love seeing students grow.
