Musicians: Let's Make Some Music!
Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico and willing to travel.
Similar to a drummer who has jazz sensibilities but plays all styles, Ryan has classical sensibilities and plays all styles.
"There's always room for cello" is something I've heard from many musicians. The truth is, there's a learning curve for fitting cello nicely into non-classical music. I wouldn't call myself a perfectionist, but I have very high standards, including being as tasteful as possible and serving the song.
As an experienced bassist and guitarist myself, I can work with any approach. I can improvise or write a part that'll fit your music. I can read sheet music well. Based on a chord chart, I can access the root notes and harmony notes well and choose them to complement the song. I've been known to learn lines and progressions by ear quickly.
You'll find that I'm all about the music you envision. If you want overdubs or changes, the session's vibe will not be affected. I'm an easy-going and humble guy.
Call me if you'd like to talk about your project, whether it's a live situation or a studio session. (I also have an electric cello, should the stage volume be loud and you want me to rock with the band.)
