For fun, I added a cello.
"Ryan is as professional as he is talented. Whether it's being a hired gun within a band setting or performing at a wedding, Ryan always shows up on time with a great attitude ready to make the best music possible. Highly recommend!!"

"An amazing talent that made my latest project shine like I never imagined possible...will definitely be keeping in touch."

Cello for Your Music?
Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico and willing to travel.
Similar to a drummer who has jazz sensibilities and plays all styles, Ryan has classical sensibilities and plays all styles.
I'm a bit of a musical chameleon who can go far beyond the Americana vibes in the music posted above. Although this is my personal favorite genre, I love all music.
"There's always room for cello" is something I've heard from many musicians. The truth is, there's a learning curve for fitting cello nicely into non-classical music. Cello has a subtle yet very present sound color in a mix. I wouldn't call myself a perfectionist, but I have very high standards, including being as tasteful as possible.
Similar to you, I've spent years playing bass, guitar, and drums. My training is simply a tool I use in music making. I'm completely comfortable with and amazed by musicians who work only by ear.
I can work with you however you'd like:
-
improvise (I can play the cello creatively and soulfully, straight from the heart)
-
write parts before the session (my favorite)
-
read sheet music or Nashville numbers
-
learn lines or chord progressions by ear
I believe in checking any egos at the door and serving the songs, and will gladly do what it takes, whether it's a live situation or a studio session.
